I believe what we eat should help us to be healthier and happier. I am fully committed to creating nutritional healthy eating recipes made with wholesome ingredients, gluten-free, dairy-free, simple, delicious, and easy to prepare. When I came to Canada at 12 years old, I was diagnosed with anemia. I was unaware that it was a symptom of Celiac. I had food intolerances with gluten, wheat, dairy, yeast, and cornstarch. For many years I suffered with fibroids, gut issues, acne, depression, anxiety, and increased body fat. When I became a mother in 1991, my daughter had developed cognitive issues due to my lack of proper nutrition and health conditions. My daughter was my inspiration for the journey of becoming healthier. It was difficult to find budget-friendly, nutritious, and convenient ready-made foods at that time. So, I returned to cooking with more wholesome foods the way I was brought up in Jamaica. I was on a mission to find out more about how to stay healthy with nutrition. I enrolled in the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition and completed the Fundamentals of Nutrition. To further my knowledge and skills, I am currently pursuing certification to become a Certified Nutritional Consultant. When healthy eating is the cure, diet-related diseases should never be on the increase. I want to use my gifts, talents, and what I have learned, to empower Canadians to maintain a nutritional healthy eating lifestyle.
